Is it safe to connect AI to Salesforce via MCP?

Safety depends on the server, client, credentials, and requested action. ApexGenius scopes access to authorized projects, labels external write actions, stores Salesforce credentials in an encrypted vault, processes tool arguments and results for the request, and retains saved project content and content-minimized logs on its published schedule.

Salesforce requests use an authorized OAuth credential for the selected project. A per-user connection applies that user’s permissions; project metadata workflows may use an authorized project-level sync or administrator credential, whose Salesforce permissions then apply.

Create, update, delete, anonymous Apex, staging, and deployment operations are labeled as write actions so the AI client can apply confirmation controls. Validate-only is available, but ApexGenius does not promise a separate preview for every write.

MCP tool arguments and results are not retained as tool-call content unless you intentionally save project content. Operational metadata follows 30-day, 365-day, or seven-year schedules depending on the log; record values, source content, and conversation text are excluded from those logs.
